Where We Build Fences and Gates

Boerne Fence works in Boerne, Texas, and the Hill Country towns around it, across Kendall County and into Comal County: Fair Oaks Ranch, Comfort, Bulverde, Spring Branch and Sisterdale. Each area has its own rules and its own ground, from city permits to long runs over stony ranch land. Pick your area to see what applies to you.

Inside City Limits

Inside Boerne, a fence needs a permit application with a site plan, and contractors must be registered with the City of Boerne to work inside city limits. Fair Oaks Ranch runs its own permits for new fences and additions. In Bulverde, the city's Building Review and Inspection office handles permits and contractor registration. Spring Branch is a city too, but a small one, and most 78070 addresses sit outside it. Our fence permit guide covers the details.

Out on Acreage

Comfort and Sisterdale are unincorporated Kendall County, and most Spring Branch land is unincorporated Comal County, so Boerne's permit rules don't apply. It's still worth checking county rules, deed restrictions and HOAs. In Comal County, driveway work in the county right-of-way needs a PIPROW permit. Out here the work is mostly pipe and ranch fencing, deer and game fence and ranch entry gates.
